art_worldI like this article pointing out 25 ways to improve the Art World: 25ways.

I would include a couple more:

26 – The inclusion of Art History in art classes in schools. To love art we need to understand it and know its history.

27- Artists are not writers, let their art being seen not written.

Found this press photos of an “exceptional rare” Picasso’s work at Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, and the picture itself is so comic that is hard to “see” the painting:

1 – The painting is obviously not hung at eye level. The description tag is also hung way up there. Or perhaps Scottish people are just taller?

2 – Why “the holders” are always women, maybe now and then it could be a “bloke” for a change.

3 – If you are gonna to pretend to hold a painting at least try to look like you are ACTUALLY holding it.

4 – If she was actually holding the painting, she would not be able to hold it above her head like she is doing it in the picture.

Munch and Van Gogh are finally together at this amazing exhibition at the Van Gosh Museum in Amsterdam! (BTW: I’m a huge fan of the museum, I believe they honor Vincent’s memory and soul perfectly).  I always though Munch had some strong similarities to Van Gogh, but in a darker and abated way: MunchVincent

1961.18.34The NY court rejects Konowaloff’s (Russian’s art collector Ivan Abramovich Morozov’s great-grandson) arguments of ownership over “The Night Cafe” (picture above).  The US has always being very understanding and eager to restitute artworks to its respective owner (involving the Nazis, or stolen cases), however, I believe in this occurrence Knowaloff has a better shot going after the Russian government than Yale. 51lB9S-R0KL._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_Catherine Hickley, an expert on WWII stolen art has written a new book called “Hitler’s Art Dealer.”  This is an article about the book: Hitler’sArtDealer.  I’m excited to read it and learn more about the “Munich’s” obsession in art and his felonious ways to obtain it; which I always thought transcribes perfectly some of his characteristics: inconsiderate, manipulative and superficial.

05C03From the “splash” to the technological era, David Hockney had come a long way, at least in my opinion.   In 2004 Hockney started “painting” using his Ipad, and we gained depth, warmth, bright COLORS, excitement and passion… his cheerful soul came to life, so much so that I would say if Van Gogh had an ipad (back then) his work would resemble Hockney’s…
