Sotheby’s confirmed to the Antiques Trade Gazette that they had indeed reimbursed the buyer of “Unknown Man” by Frans Hals because it was a forgery. Does it mean we have a master forger on the loose? If so he/she is really good, the best I’ve ever seen! Let’s stay tuned…
