Last night was a busy one for NY Christie’s, breaking the world auction record for Claude Monet at $81.4 million, just over $1 million more than the previous record, which was set at Christie’s London in 2008. This was the highest result for an Impressionist & Modern Art sale at Christie’s since May 2014.
