I am sorry

Hi everyone,

I would like to apologize for the lack of posts lately, I’ve been super busy with my new project. It is demanding my full attention for right now, but I’m very excited about it,  and soon I’ll be able to share it with you guys!!!!    Have a lovely end of summer, and thanks for the emails.  Much Love – Juliana

In this documentary every word spoken by the actors is sourced from the letters that Van Gogh sent to his younger brother Theo, and of those around him. What emerges is a complex portrait of a sophisticated, civilized, tormented and yet loving man; someone who can express his deepest and darkest feeling with beauty.

I always say that a good painting does not need to be explained with words, but Vincent’s letters are as much as his art as his paintings; with his own words Vincent describes his unique perspective of life, his poetic heart, with words he painted his soul.

If you haven’t fallen in love with Vincent yet, I’m sure after watching this you probably will: Vincent Van Gogh: Painted with Words

Is it a Van Gogh or a Gogh Van?

So apparently the publisher of “The Lost Arles Sketchbook” by Van Gogh is threatening to take legal action if anyone says the drawings are fake:

“reserved the right to undertake any appropriate action to repair the damage caused by these claims that describe her [the book’s owner] as a forger.”

In my opinion the drawings have a very modern style, and lack of details. My guess is that if the drawings are fakes, then they have been made relatively recently. Let’s stay tuned….

Mely was a former High School inter at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC and her wise words describing the eagerness to improve his techniques and the simplicity of his soul, is two of many Van Gogh’s qualities:  Mely at Met

I attended the Irises and Roses exhibition at the Met and even though the colors contrast and its harmony still beautiful, I could not stop wondering how they looked when he first painted them, before the colors had faded, and found this video that illustrates such magnitude: Van Gogh’s Irises
