If you (like me) are planning on walking from The Met to Breuer  here is a new John Luther Adams’ song to keep you company: Soundwalk 9:09. The song is called 9:09 which is the time (approximately) that will take for you to reach your destination.  The composer had been commissioned by Met Live Arts to make Met Breuer’s grand opening even more special. What can I say… they have thought about everything!

Sometimes with humble beginnings, sometimes confusing ones, sometimes colorful and vibrate, this new Met Breuer’s exhibition called “Unfinished: Thoughts Left Visible” brings it all; the first strokes deflowering the canvas, the inception of the creation, the artist’s method to achieve plenitude… This process has always been fascinating, and now with their unfinished work being exposed it gives us the opportunity to become co-creators and to meet the artists in a personal level.

Apparently the Metropolitan Museum of Art has a new logo (picture above)… It is not bad, but I believe it could be better.

Met-Museum

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC will be expanding its modern art wings according to David Brodsky, a real estate developer who is chairman of the museum’s board. The size of the entire project will consist of 180,000 square feet, and “It will be no higher than the existing buildings that are there, it goes down and up to a rooftop with a terrace.” explained David. The Knoedler fake trial begins today, and everyone is anxious to see how it is going to turn out.

The entire case will be revolved around this question: should the buyers of a fake work (in this occurrence: Mark Rothko) have done more researches to find out if they were buying a genuine work, or should the gallery be expected to make sure the work was genuine first?

Who will be blamed for it?

It is obvious, at least for me, that the gallery should be assuming the responsibility.  Read more about the case: Knoedler fakes trial could be a game-changer for the art market

These are some photos I took at the Cloister this summer: Cloisters

We even saw a Van Gogh’s look alike:

20150627_165744This cute looking apartment was the home of Edward Hopper for almost all his life.  It is located in Washington Square NYC.  His studio was in the last floor; the huge windows sure helped with the sunlight, but yet he wanted more: “Maybe I’m not very human – what I wanted to do was to paint sunlight on the side of a house.” (Edward Hopper)
